Lost ring one in a bet with myself, so I had to make another one. Refined the design a bit. Same spec as zero and one.
A more complicated watch strap. Design inspired by the Pip-Boy with some rally elements thrown in. I wore this anytime it was cool enough out for leather. Retired as it doesn’t fit my new watch.
My first stab at a leather watch strap. A familiar blue goatskin with vachetta on the skin side. Not much else to say about this one.
Signet rings carved and finished by me and cast by Tacoma Custom Jewelers in .999 silver. I use these when I need to seal an official decree.
Birthday present for a dear, old friend. Improvised layout based on an actually kitty cat. Topaz bead is recipient’s birthstone.
My first foray into knitting; an infinity scarf of basic knit stitches. The irregular striping might be code.
Front pocket wallet. Goatskin shell with a buckskin suede lining. Offset card pocket layout inspired by city skyline. I still carry this wallet.
Secret compartment shelf in poplar and birch plywood finished with linseed oil. French cleat mounting for floating effect. Pop-out mechanism dug out of Ikea’s spare parts catalog.
Like a ton of pages stitched with a medieval method using cords on the spine. Leather bound in antique blue goatskin with a sunken relief selected by recipient.
Assorted miniature books I’ve made. Improvised binding that seems to work fairly well, but an otherwise orthodox construction.
Basic wallet design I plagiarized from the then failing wallet I’d been carrying for years. Hand-stitched sheepskin leather with a paisley fabric lining. Retired from daily usage, but I do keep it around in case I feel pink.
Made from scratch as a birthday gift for an old friend who loves to write. “Mohawk Superfine Text Weight” paper cut, folded, and bound in sheepskin. Sunken relief on cover and cover box. My first book and my first time working with leather.
Needed a stitching frame and press to do more advanced binding techniques. I figured it might be useful for squeezing other stuff, too. Steel handwheels made by my late machinist friend Howard, RIP.
A mobile LAN party platform meant for easy setup and teardown. Worked quite well, but she weighed 70 pounds. Retired after the built-in monitor let out the magic smoke. Custom mounts and I/O panel machined by my late friend Howard Noel.
1982 Kawasaki KZ550 chopped. Custom license plate mount built from vintage auto taillight. Lowered 4” in the rear; custom fitted seat and fender. Bolt-on 4 into 1 exhaust and bars.
A pair of racks for high pressure air compressors built for a company at which I was previously employed. Designed in SketchUp. Stick welded 2" square steel tube, 1" angle bracket, and some expanded metal. Powder coat and graphics by (forgotten) local shop. Designed, fabricated, wired, and plumbed by myself. Oh yeah, and I rebuilt the compressor from the block up as well.
Miscellaneous projects.
Some from jobs, some from crafts.
Sketch-up renders of ideas that never started or never finished. Some impractical designs that proved too esoteric. Some ideas I lacked tools to create and have missed my window for.
